AI memory tools
The four kinds of AI memory tools: built-in memory, browser extensions, developer memory layers, and a shared memory you connect to your tools, and how each works.
Guide
For memory that works across ChatGPT, Claude and other tools, choose a shared memory service such as Memory Bridge or MemoryPlugin; built-in memory stays inside each tool, and Mem0 is for developers.
If you work in one tool, its built-in memory may be enough. If you move between several, this list compares the options on the same criteria, as their official pages describe them in October 2026.

| Option | Kind | Works across tools | See and edit everything saved | What you need to start | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Memory Bridge | Shared memory service | Yes, every tool you connect | Yes: notes with source, date and earlier versions | Connect from the tool's settings, no code | SAR 60 ($16) a month, or SAR 540 ($144) a year |
| MemoryPlugin | Shared memory service | Yes | Memory entries in buckets | A browser extension first, with other options | On its site |
| ChatGPT memory | Built-in memory | No, inside ChatGPT | A memory summary and saved memories | Turn it on in settings | Included with ChatGPT |
| Claude memory | Built-in memory | No, inside Claude | Yes, topic by topic | On by default on Free, Pro and Max | Included with Claude |
| Gemini memory | Built-in memory | No, inside Gemini | Ask it what it used from past chats | A personal Google Account with Keep Activity on | Included with Gemini |
| Notion | A workspace you write yourself | Tools read it through Notion's official service | Yes, pages and databases | Connect the tool to your workspace | On its site |
| Mem0 | Memory infrastructure for developers | Depends on what the developer builds | Through code or a technical console | A developer to integrate the API | On its site |
We checked this in October 2026 against OpenAI's help centre, Claude's help centre, Gemini's help centre, Notion's docs, Mem0's site and MemoryPlugin's site. These products change often, so check their pages before you decide.
We compared the seven options on five criteria, in the order that matters to someone who works across tools:
Every fact about another product comes from its official pages; we did not test paid accounts on the other services. We publish this list and are one of its options, so read it with that in mind, and if something has changed, write to us and we will correct it.
It keeps what you have explained about your work as notes inside projects, each with its source, date and earlier versions, and every tool you connect from its own settings reads them: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor and more. The interface is in Arabic and English.
Price: SAR 60 ($16) for 30 days, or SAR 540 ($144) for a full year, which is SAR 45 ($12) a month. Both plans have the same features, and neither renews automatically. See the pricing page.
A shared memory service for several tools. Its site lists a browser extension first among ways to connect, and it sorts memory into entries inside buckets. The detailed comparison is in Memory Bridge vs MemoryPlugin.
All three recall past chats once memory is on, differ in what they show you, and none shares its memory with the others. Each comes with its tool at no extra charge.
Details are in Which AI has the best memory for work? and in the ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini comparisons.
A workspace for pages and databases that AI tools connect to through its official Notion MCP service, according to Notion's developer docs. The difference: in Notion you write your documents yourself, while a memory is written by your tools as you agree things with them. See Notion vs Memory Bridge.
A memory layer developers integrate into their apps with code, extracting and retrieving facts programmatically. The comparison is in Memory Bridge vs Mem0.
A shared memory service that both connect to, because each one's own memory stays inside it. The workflow is in Using ChatGPT and Claude together.
It may be, if you work in one tool. Once you move between tools, each holds part of the story.

Because we publish the list, and because it meets the five criteria as we describe them. Facts about other products come from their official pages, linked under the table.
