What to include

The time of the problem and your time zone, the tool you were using, the operation you tried, and the error message with any sensitive details removed. Send a file path or project name only if it is needed for diagnosis. Do not send sign-in details or the full contents of your notes; if we need something from them we ask for the minimum.

• If an edit conflicts, read the file again and combine your changes with the current version before retrying.
• If you did not receive confirmation that a save completed, check by reading the file before creating a duplicate.
• If you hit a request limit, wait a little and try again. Raising quotas needs our review.
• If a tool fails to connect, note the error and do not change the existing connection's permissions before writing to us.
• To recover an earlier version of a file, read the current file first; restore creates a new copy and keeps the history.

Privacy and reports

To report unexpected access, or to ask to access, correct or delete your data, say in the subject line that the message concerns privacy. Do not add other sensitive data to the report; we may ask for what is needed to verify your identity. Details are in the privacy policy.
